The Siamese Queen / La reina siamesa

The exotic, curled up and entirely at home. The Siamese carries the faraway in its very breed, and yet it rules the hearth — the exotic made domestic, distance settled into home. It is arraigo's gentlest form: what came from elsewhere can belong completely, and can even reign. It is the traveller's own hope, worn here as fur and poise. Cream and seal-brown points and the famous blue eyes are set against a warm, worked interior ground. This cat has cool realist elegance — the long lines, the fixed sapphire gaze — while the background stays softly textured and domestic.
