The Turtle's Flight / El vuelo de la tortuga

Underwater, the heavy body finally learns to fly. On land the turtle is slow and burdened; in water it becomes weightless, its flippers turned to wings. That paradox is the first taste of freedom the sea can offer — a rehearsal for flight before the air makes it real. To leave is to find the element in which your own weight lifts at last. The square format frames the turtle mid-glide, flippers spread like wings against a ground of deep, worked blue. The realist form suspended in near-empty water, using textured gradients of colour to suggest depth and lift rather than any fixed horizon. Bajo el agua, el cuerpo pesado aprende por fin a volar. En tierra la tortuga es lenta y torpe; en el agua se vuelve ingrávida, y sus aletas, alas. Esa paradoja es el primer sabor de libertad que ofrece el mar: un ensayo del vuelo antes de que el aire lo haga real. Marcharse es encontrar el elemento en el que el propio peso, al fin, se aligera. El formato cuadrado enmarca a la tortuga en pleno planeo, las aletas abiertas como alas sobre un fondo de azul profundo y trabajado. La forma realista aparece suspendida en un agua casi vacía y se sirve de gradientes de color texturado, para sugerir profundidad y sustentación, sin horizonte fijo.
